​On 28 June COTER discussed the reflection paper on the future of EU finances that the European Commission released on the same day and adopted an opinion on own resources.

Members recalled the importance of cohesion policy as instrument to trigger investments and achieve territorial cohesion. At the same time some concerns were voiced as to the budget that may be allocated to this policy as most of the scenario presented by the Commission hint to a lower budget.

During the meeting, COTER members also adopted an opinion on the future of Connecting Europe Facility.

The EA member Ms Maupertuis, member of the Executive Council of Corsica highlighted the importance for TEN-T not to neglect links to peripheral regions that face constraints due to their location, such as islands and mountains.
