​On 2 October, COTER commission debated the obstacles hindering cross-border cooperation and discussed the relevant opinion which looks at the current regulatory framework and possible changes to be introduced.
 
The EA Group coordinator and President of the Valle d'Aosta region, Mr Augusto Rollandin, said during the meeting that rules need to be simpler in order to strengthen cross border cooperation across the EU, especially for the set-up of EGTC.
 
The Commission also adopted an opinion on the future territorial agenda and discussed about indicators for territorial development (GDP and beyond).
