In the presence of Karmenu Vella, Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and MEP Simona Bonafe', rapporteur on legislative proposals amending waste directives, Members of the ENVE Commission emphasised the crucial role of LRAs in the transition to a circular economy model. Such a model would enhance the EU competitiveness and innovation potential and generate jobs whilst ensuring a sustainable use of resources.
 
A crucial factor in this matter is to promote the re-use of materials, reparability and consumer awareness. The goal is to turn waste into a valuable resource.
