​The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) Commission for Natural Resources (NAT) held its 20th meeting on 1 October 2018 in Brussels.

The future of the CAP was discussed with members including EA coordinator Enda Stenson highlighting the need for a strong agriculture policy in Europe which also protects and promotes the rural areas.

Members also held a lively exchange on the digital transformation of healthcare system under the scope of the Digital Single Market. Among participants, the Vice-chair of the European Regional and Local Health Authorities (EUREGHA) calling for a greater responsibility for regional health authorities, the introduction of the interoperability of the cross-border data sharing and a facilitation of the access to the information through digitalization, as the most important points.   

European Alliance member  Miloslav Repaský presented his opinion on the significance of the risk assessment on the food chain, putting in value the work of the EFSA and remarking that in order to pursuit the highest security possible, there has to be transparency in all the steps from the producer to the final product.
