​On 6-7 June the COTER commission met in Sofia, under the Bulgarian Presidency, to debate the recently published proposals on the future multi annual financial framework (MFF) 2021/2027 and the related cohesion policy regulations.

Members have reiterated their opposition to cuts to cohesion policy and rural development and called for a more balanced budget.

Nanette Maupertuis, member of the executive council of Corsica Regional Authority, was appointed rapporteur for the regulation on European Territorial Cooperation programme (Interreg)

“There is no cohesion without cooperation. We need more involvement of regions, not less, and programmes with real added value such as INTERREG must continue with the same level of resources” she said.
