​On the 17th April Uno Silberg was elected as the 2nd Vice President of the CoR Interregional Group “Baltic Sea Regions”.  He was delighted to accept this prestigious position and said: "it is important that the Baltic Sea Region has a coherent policy strategy which will be of benefit to all its citizens and this needs to feed into the EU policy agenda.".
 
Members elected in the Baltic Sea intergroup are:
 
President of IG-BSR Pauliina Haijanen, City Councillor of Laitila, Finland (European People´s Party Group, EPP)
1st Vice President IG-BSR Andris Jaunsleinis, Member of Ventspils Municipal Council, Latvia (Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, ALDE)

2nd Vice President IG-BSR Uno Silberg, Member of the Kose Rural Municipality Council, Estonia (European Alliance Group, EA).
 
The meeting also discussed necessity of regional collaboration, innovation, the dimension of the macro-regional policy in general and the integration of INTERREG proposals.  The group will meet at future CoR plenary weeks.
