On 5 March 2015 Members of the NAT commission adopted the opinion on the Future of the dairy industry. Mr Enda Stenson, EA Coordinator for NAT commission mentioned during the debate that "the systematic monitoring of the development for the post-quota period is needed from the farmers' point of views. Dairy production provides a vital economic activity that is difficult to replace and that also plays an important social and environmental role. The EU has to be prudent to avoid the similar crises as few years ago. Therefore, monitoring production is important to ensure better market adjustment and to reduce the price volatility of farmgate milk prices which represents a major short-term challenge".

He also strongly highlighted the importance of the milk distribution at the schools across the European Union.
