The Conference of Presidents delegation of the EU Committee of the Regions visited Ukraine on the 3rd and 4th July where they discussed the Ukrainian government's proposals for decentralisation reform with Volodymyr Hroysman, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for regional development.
European Alliance group President Dr Uno Silberg participated in the delegation and said that there was a clear need for strong democratically elected local government to being back some confidence, provide stability and hopefully prosperity for the Ukrainian people.
The CoR delegation also met members of the Ukrainian parliament as well as Mustafa Dzhemylyov leader of the Tatar community, and also took part in a ceremony in respect to the victims of Maidan.
