A delegation from the Welsh Assembly's external affairs committee today visited the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) to present their views on the implications UK withdrawal from the EU will have on Wales.

Participating in the meeting, European Alliance group President Mr Stanisław Szwabski highlighted the CoR resolution on Brexit which particularly stressed the importance of Irish Sea cooperation, European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) and other ways of continued cooperation.  Mr Szwabski also welcomed Plaid Cymru member Steffan Lewis AM and outlined the excellent work of Plaid Cymru members in the CoR.

Mr Steffan Lewis called for a new type of creative cooperation with Wales which would allow the Country remain in the Single Market and stressed that the 'Repeal bill' should not be reduced to a power grab by Westminster.
