Competition in each of the nominated secondary schools   takes place. There will be two part

1. Multiple choice quiz

2. Essay Writing Competition: Students will complete an 800 word essay on the following topic:

  • In your view, how should the European Union act to combat poverty in the regions?

The competitions will be organized locally by each nominated school. To organize the competition a teacher should be appointed responsible for implementing the project. The evaluation of the best works needs to be carried out by a jury set up in each nominated school.

Europe Day, announcement of winners in the schools.

9 - 10 June 2010 

Competition winners visit the European institutions and participate at the plenary session of the Committee of the Regions in Brussels.
