Dr.Michael Schneider
The Envoy of the State of Saxony-Anhalt to the Federal Government and President of the EPP Group in the Committee of the Regions
Michael Schneider was elected President of the EPP Group in the Committee of the Regions in February 2010.
Having already served as Chairman of the Commission for Territorial Cohesion Policy of the Committee of the Regions (COTER) between 2008-2010 and 1st Vice-Chairman prior to that, Dr Schneider has demonstrated his commitment to regional affairs and specifically cohesion policy.
Since May 2002, President Schneider is State Secretary for Federal Affairs and Envoy of the State of Saxony-Anhalt to the Federation.
It is through this position that he has been able to be a Member of the Committee of the Regions and has been an EPP Vice-President from 2004 to 2010.
