EPP/CoR meeting in Murcia

Group meetings and seminars

Regular Group meetings

EPP Group meetings take place before the Plenary Sessions of the CoR and involve all EPP members. During the meeting decisions on internal and external political matters are taken and joint positions on key political topics are adopted by the Group. This is the occasion where the President and Vice-Presidents of the Group are elected as well as the nominations of Commission coordinators.

Prior to each Plenary Session, the political Groups meet with their members to discuss the opinions on the agenda and to decide if there are politically sensitive areas which need to be discussed and decided on as a Group. By working as a team, the political Groups are able to find consensus on the opinions and ensure that it is also in agreement with their political sensitivities.

Extraordinary Group meetings and seminars

Each year, the EPP organises extraordinary meetings and seminars outside of Brussels in order to exchange views on important issues within EU affairs from those regions, which are directly affected. It also allows the EPP to express its opinion in the form of declarations and to highlight them within the CoR and the EU more widely.

The last Group seminar took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 9 November 2012 and the next Group meeting is foreseen in Dublin, Ireland on 28 February 2013.
