"Manuel Fraga was dedicated to politics and actively worked at all levels of government. He was both a European and a true friend to the regions. Under his leadership, his birthplace of Galicia was transformed by building modern roads, bridges and other infrastructure, much of it paid for with EU funds. His legacy will have a lasting impact." Michael Schneider, President of the EPP Group in the Committee of the Regions, said today whilst sending his condolences to the family and friends of Manuel Fraga, former President of the Xunta of Galicia and founder of Spain's Partido Popular.
