Local and regional authorities implement more than two thirds of EU regulation. They therefore have an essential role in developing future European policies through the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality.

The EPP Group in the CoR aims to effectively represent territorial areas, regions, cities and municipalities by getting the voice of local and regional authorities heard in the debate on European policies.

By working in partnership European, national, regional and local levels can promote an ever closer Union, which is able to respond to today's global challenges.

The European People's Party and its representatives in the Committee of the Regions, European Commission, European Parliament and Council of Ministers work closely together to promote multi-level governance.

Each year the EPP Group holds meetings dedicated to the thematic subjects that matter most at local and regional authorities.
