Adam Banaszak

Mr Adam Banaszak, Member of Pomorskie Region Council and EA group coordinator in the NAT commission, has been appointed rapporteur for the CoR opinion on the "The role of local and regional authorities in the implementation of the Health Strategy 2008-2013". Health strategy is a priority for the NAT Commission as health can be an important determinant of regional economic performance, apart from its importance for social wellbeing. Local and regional authorities are directly concerned by the issue of the implementation of the Health Strategy 2008-2013, since, in a number of Member States, they are responsible for both health promotion and healthcare.

Also his proposal to organise the seminar in Poland on: "Development of an environmental processing industry as a factor in the integrated development of urban and rural areas" was endorsed. The regional capital of Western Kujawy, one of the main agricultural regions, is ideally suited to holding a NAT commission seminar on this subject. Cities in this agricultural area, especially the regional capital Innowrocław, can only grow together with the rural areas by tapping into their potential.
