At the CoR bureau meeting in Luxembourg on the 2nd September members debated a 'new impetus for cross-border cooperation'.  The European Alliance President participated in the lively debate and successfully added to the CoR declaration a focus on cooperation between schools and educational establishments by adding the following texts.

'Considers that it is opportune to develop more cross-border cooperation between schools and educational establishments, to promote cultural and linguistic understanding and exchanges of experiences for both teachers and students.'

Mr Szwabski said that cooperation between students and teachers in cross-border regions is very important to ensure a better understanding of each other's language and culture.
