The EA member in the CIVEX commission, Mr Jan Brons welcomes the adoption of the opinion on Regulatory fitness which supports actions and initiatives aimed at simplifying legislation and reducing the costs associated to transpositions. He believes that the implementation and the impact of new legislation on LRAs need to be duly taken into account given the LRAs limited financial resources. In this respect the EA members also support impact assessments exercises and ex post evaluations focussing on the territorial dimension.
During the CIVEX meeting members had also the opportunity to discuss the work programmes of Joint consultative committees and Working groups with candidate and pre-candidate countries which are ensuring a fruitful cooperation with local and regional authorities from enlargement countries in view of their future accession to the EU.
