Strugała greets newly elected NAT commission President

​​On 5 October 2022, the 14th meeting of the Commission for Natural Resources (NAT) was held. 

During the session, the CoR members voted the opinions including a reform on geographical indications systems and safeguarding of food security, the opinions on both of which had been adopted by the commission. The other debated topics concerned regional adaptation strategies for low-carbon agriculture, a European Health Data Space, short-term rentals, and targets and tools for a "smart" rural Europe. The last item on the agenda was a presentation of the legislative framework for sustainable food systems, carried out by a European Commission representative.

During the commission, EA's coordinator for NAT – Mr Dariusz Strugała thanked Ms Ulrika Landergren as the outcoming President for her half mandate work and he also took the opportunity to congratulate Ms Gomes as a newly elected NAT commission President: "I would like to assure you that our Group is ready to cooperate with you. I am sure our cooperation will be fruitful, especially on the issues such as the development of rural areas which is a big priority for our political group."
