At a meeting in the port city of Odessa of the CoR high level task force on Ukraine
Mr Stanisław Szwabski, President of the European Alliance group, welcomed the process of decentralisation in Ukraine.
The meeting brought together representatives of the Conference of Presidents as well as local and regional government representatives in Ukraine. The delegation visited the Odessa Centre of Public Services as well as the Odessa Post Customs Authority.
The task force meeting focused on decentralisation reform and cooperation such as the example given of cooperation between the cities of Gdansk and Odessa. The EA group President said that it was hugely important to encourage cooperation initiatives and the reform of local government in Ukraine to ensure that they deliver on citizen's needs.
