At the opening of the 13th edition of Open Days European Week of Regions and Cities and in the presence of Commissioner Moedas and Commissioner Cretu, the European Alliance group President, Mr Stanisław Szwabski, highlighted the need for a geographical quota to be applied to the EU investment plan.  If this is not undertaken there is a danger that the investment will be only in larger cities and richer regions.

He also said that Cohesion policy should provide leverage for investments but it should not be replaced by an investment policy whereby some regions clearly benefit more than others. If this is going to be the case we will find it hard to achieve the objectives of economic social and territorial cohesion, the treaties entrusted us.
