Mr Rhodri Glyn THOMAS, Member of National Assembly for Wales participated today in the meeting of the Temporary ad hoc Commission on the EU budget. The point of reference for this meeting is the report the European Commission adopted on 19 October on the revision of the financial framework, which has already generated a fair amount of reaction. The EU budget review is primarily an opportunity to identify those areas of the EU budget expenditure that should be crucial in the next mid- and long-term period and to elaborate an optimal mechanism for the financing of the budget. The Commission will adopt its legislative proposal on the future Multiannual Financial Framework in the second quarter of 2011 and before 1 July 2011. The CoR will present its opinion on this issue in the beginning of 2011.
