The CoR ARLEM (SUDEV committee) met in Bethlehem on the 15th June discussion with local and regional representatives the problems of water and urban mobility.   The European Alliance group was represented by Cllr Brian Meaney and Mr Stanislaw Szwabski who heard first-hand the huge problems of water shortage which is facing the local population.  Cllr Brian Meaney encouraged the UfM and EU not only to look at desalinisation in Gaza as this is hugely costly but also at dual-piping systems which would be used to use salt water for sanitary purposes.

Also discussed was Urban mobility where Mr Szwabski highlighted the enormous challenges across the Euro-Med area, with the changes of population and the concentrations of people.
