The NAT commission has organised the seminar on 'Accessibility - a new challenge for inclusive tourism' in Ponzano, Veneto. This seminar explores the barriers to inclusive tourism and reflects on how these challenges can be addressed to improve the accessibility of information and destinations. Through its political and practice-based sessions, the seminar demonstrates what can be done to realise economic and social potential of tourism for all.
Mr Adam Banaszak, EA coordinator to the NAT commission said during the seminar: "Tourism constitutes one of the most important economic sectors, and it is a sector that undergoes the greatest expansion at world and European level. This sector is to the forefront of new technological approaches, contributing to human resources training and mobility, and bearing in mind sustainable requirements, provides new dynamics to managing the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage it depends upon." He added "The politicians should ensure tourist destinations, products and services to be accessible to all people, regardless of their physical limitations, disabilities or age".
