At a meeting in the historical capital of Montenegro, Cetinje, both
Cllr Hughie McGrath, EA member from Tipperary County Council and Aleksandr Bogdanović Mayor of Cetinje were elected co-Presidents of the Montenegro Joint Consultative Committee. Cllr McGrath said he was honoured to be elected to such an important position and his aim was to have a clear road-map of practical assistance which would be of use for Montenegro's local authorities.
The JCC will enhance cooperation between local authorities in the EU and those in Montenegro to assist the Country in its quest to join the European Union. The meeting focussed on the subjects of 'Human Resource management' and 'cross border and inter-regional cooperation'.
Members had the opportunity to visit a large water management project part funded by the European Union.
