​​Members of Montenegro's Local Authorities and the Committee of the Regions met in the seaside town of Bar on the 15th September and discussed Montenegro's accession to the EU as well as the key topics of Waste management and Climate Change & Energy efficiency.
 
This was the 7th meeting of the EU-Montenegro Joint consultative and was co-chaired by Cllr Hughie McGrath, Tipperary County council and Aleksandar Bogdanović, Mayor of the Old Royal Capital Cetinje.  Cllr McGrath said that it was important to not only look at the progress report to joining the EU but to give some very practical discussions and exchange of experience in this case in the areas of Waste management and energy efficiency.
 
The meeting was hosted by Mayor of Bar, Mr Zoran Srzentic, who also organised a study visit to the local waste Management of the City.  Members also had the opportunity to see the historical and cultural parts of the City.
