Cllr. Roger Knox addressed the President of the European Council, Van Rompuy, what was his last speech at the CoR before he retires from politics.
The EA member, while bringing the example of Scotland's plan for growth, emphasised the importance of investing in renewable energy to enhance the competitiveness of the EU.

The Europe2020 aims for transition to a low carbon economy provides an excellent opportunity to place Scotland and other EU countries and regions in an advantageous position within the global economy and ensure that the benefits of this change are shared across the economy and all our communities, he said.

In his closing remarks Cllr. Know said also that he hopes one day to see Scotland as a full and committed member of the EU.
