Mr Truskolaski, Chair of the Interregional Group for Less Developed Regions stressed the impact of reduction of steel industry production on regions and citizens. The problems of the steel industry affect all regions because of their very strong impact on linked industry sectors. He pointed out the crucial problem  - job losses and their impact on the local community. With this regard he emphasized the important role of local and regional authorities as they have the closest link with citizens and they have the responsibility of helping to save jobs in their regions.
