Over the next 18 months, monetary stability and economic growth should remain the main priorities of the EU. In his context and taking into consideration that rural areas cover 90 % of the EU's territory and is home to approximately 50 % of its population, Mr Jerzy Zająkała, EA Group President, during the last CoR bureau meeting, called for more urban-rural  balance in the forthcoming cohesion policy. The Representative of the EU Presidency, Mrs Bienskowska, Minister for the Regional Development in Poland assured Mr Jerzy Zająkała,  this issue is a priority for the Polish Presidency.
