EA coordinator, Mr Jerzy Zająkała has welcomed the overall objective for organic production and has approved the action plan.

During the meeting the members agreed to issue an own-initiative opinion on the future dairy sector. In many Member States and regions, milk production is a key pillar of the regional economy and agricultural added value. Mr Zająkała said that it is essential to ensure a steady income for milk producers throughout the EU in order to maintain agriculture in all regions and preserve rural communities, in the interests of reducing the development gap between rural and predominantly urban areas and meeting the territorial cohesion objective enshrined in the Lisbon Treaty."
