On 4 December the CIVEX commission adopted at its meeting the work programme for the year 2013. Focus will be given on the 2013 European Year of Citizens and on the future of Europe. Nevertheless, enlargement process, including Neighbourhood policy will remain very high on the commission's agenda.
During the meeting members discussed important issues such as the promotion of EU citizens' electoral rights, the devolution in the European Union and the place for local and regional self-government, the statute and funding of European political parties and foundations.

Last but not the least the commission had a first exchange of views on the European Commission 2012 Enlargement report, thus following up on the recent developments in candidate and pre-candidate countries since the adoption of last CoR opinion drafted by the EA member, Mr Szwabski.
