The Committee of the Regions' CIVEX commission (Commission for Citizenship, Governance, Institutional and External Affairs) held its meeting and a seminar on "Local democracy and good governance", on 21-22 June 2012 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
EA group co-ordinator Mr Stanislaw Szwabski participated in the meeting and said that it was important that local democracy and good was discussed and the meeting also highlighted the importance of having locally elected politicians, as this also helps the accountability of local authorities to local citizens.
