The Committee of the Regions' commission for economic and social policy (ECOS) held its external meeting on Thursday 27 June in Graz, capital city of the Austrian state of Styria. The meeting was followed by a conference on the future of the European automotive industry, especially in the regional context.
The meeting saw the adoption of four dossiers among which the opinion on the Green paper on long-term financing of the European economy, prepared by EA group's president Dr Uno Silberg. The opinion is foreseen to be adopted at the CoR's October Plenary session. Apart from Dr Silberg, EA group members present at the meeting were the coordinator Mr Witold Krochmal, Mr Marek Trams and the EA group's new member from the Scottish National Party, Cllr Anthony Gerard Buchanan.
