​​​​​On 5 November 2020, the 26th meeting of the Committee of the Regions Working Group on Relations with the Western Balkans took place virtually. The Working Group aims to promote dialogue and consistent and sustainable cooperation between the local and regional authorities from the EU and Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo and serves as a platform for the local and regional authorities to contribute to the EU accession of the three countries. On this occasion, members participated in two thematic discussions – on Kosovo-EU relations and on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the municipalities of Kosovo.

The Working Group also adopted its program for 2020-2025 with core themes of local democracy, good governance, rule of law and fundamental rights; environment protection, climate action and energy; local economic development; demographic and social issues; and cross-border cooperation.
