​​On 17 May COTER commission adopted the CoR draft opinions on the EU strategy for low emission mobility, small scale crossborder cooperation projects and territorial classification/ typologies.

Kieran McCarthy, EA Group acting coordinator, pointed out the importance for the EU of a strategy on low emission mobility and added that there is huge scope for local government to tap into EU funding sources to promote low emission mobility and increase efficiency of transport systems. There are lots of successful  projects across the EU and these should serve as sources of inspiration for other regions and cities, he said

During the meeting, the EA President Mr Szwabski reported on the workshop on regeneration of port cities and areas that took place the day before the meeting and that gathered representatives of ports and urban authorities across the EU, including Gdynia and Cork.
