At the Committee of the Regions Plenary Session Mr Stanisław Szwabski, EA President called on 1st Vice-President of the European Commission to ensure that local and regional authorities can work together with European Commission in having a coherent input into the Investment Package. The EA President underlined that the EU is at a crossroads challenging it at this moment. He asked for more action to ensure peace and security on our continent. There is also the need to reassure the citizens that clear and coherent action is being undertaken to ensure economic recovery and creation of the new jobs. He said: "The EA group is very disappointed about the decision of the Commission to table a new proposal on the Circular Economy package, withdrawing the current one. The waste prevention is crucial. At the same time we urge you to recognise the untapped potential of investing in recycling, which is one of the sectors which could help EU deliver new jobs."
