The CoR bureau meeting in Riga discussed the reduction of the Digital Divide in Europe and also the use of the EU investment package to develop digital infrastructure as well as making it more accessible across the European Union.
The European Alliance Group President Mr Szwabski welcomed this focus but criticized the decision of the EU Council to delay the reduction in Roaming charges across the EU. He also said that the Digital investment must be for everyone regardless of their geographic location or their levels of wealth. It is an opportunity to build a fair society with the investment in the Digital agenda.
