​After the launch of the Tidal Lagoon Project Swansea which was held in Brussels.  Welsh Assembly Member and European Alliance group member Rhodri Glyn Thomas says the EU and Member States needs to embrace & promote and invest in new forms of energy in particular that produced by our Oceans.  He said that it is a huge resource which has the potential to deliver badly needed Energy to the EU and also create local jobs.  He added that he welcomed that renewables is part of the Commission President's ten point plan and now it is time to deliver concrete projects.
 
He said the Tidal Lagoon in Swansea bay is a very exciting project which will have clear benefits to the local community.
