At the Agriculture and Rural development commission meeting (NAT) which was held on the 21st September, during a debate on "Innovation and modernization of the rural economy", Cllr Enda Stenson called for targeted and real investment in broadband and services in rural areas.  He said that rural areas were being decimated by the lack of investment in rural communities and the EU should ensure adequate funding.

Cllr Stenson also welcomed the Buchanan opinion on the 'Simplification on the CAP' and in particular welcomed suggestions to make it easier for young people to continue farming.
